Converting food waste into compost and non-potable water!

Tanjong Pagar Town Council Chairman, Melvin Yong, visited Redhill Food Centre to see the new machine which is capable of breaking down 1,000kg of food waste everyday, into compost and non-potable water.

The compost can be used for trees in the estate, while the water is channeled directly into our drainage system. It is also odour-free so people around would not smell a thing!

A big Thank You to the Bukit Merah Shopowners and Hawkers Association, National Environment Agency (NEA), Sembcorp Energy Singapore, and A-Smart Holdings Ltd for working with Tanjong Pagar Town Council on this pilot project.

To a more sustainable community!
